The above design shows a garden that requires very little maintenance where only nominal weeding is needed. Most landscape designers are not usually involved in maintenance, whereas we provide a full maintenance program; including a twice yearly visit to prune, weed, treat lawns and undertake the replacement of any damaged plants

The above garden is a good example of how edgings can be used. They reduce maintenance as you will never have to edge your garden again. The edgings create an impact that appear to lift up the design to give it an immediate aesthetic appeal.

When dealing with a long narrow garden it is best to split it into segments. The picture above left shows a long narrow uninteresting garden. The garden looks small because one's eyes are drawn to the end of the garden. The above right picture shows how the problem is overcome by creating different shapes and focal points that give the impression of increased garden width.

It is no problem for us to come part way through a project as can be seen from the above left picture. Here the customer made a start but underestimated the time and resources required. The design implemented on the right shows the impact of specimen planting, creating a miniature mediterranean border using Phormium, Bamboo, and Cordyline Australis. As previously mentioned on our home page, Mediterranean plants aren't the most colourful so we incorporated a cottage/shrub theme using evergreen shrubs that produce red, yellow and silver foliage.

It can be very expensive to pave a large area; why not use slate chippings which looks fantastic but unlike gravel it is firm to stand on. The design of this garden is very contemporary; the large specimen plants, slate rocks, rustic wall and circular seating area compliment each other.

When landscaping a garden it is always essential to keep as much lawn as possible as green is a natural relaxant. As can be seen from the above left picture the garden looked relatively narrow as it had a big patio area and a smaller lawn. Our design on the right utilises a circular format which makes the garden appear much larger. The stepping stones are also a very important feature asthey control the eye's movements, taking your focus from the patio to the circular seating area, then the wall on the left hand side brings the eye back towaRds the house.
