Material Choice
Indian stone is one of the best products to use as it produces unique textures and varied colours. Autumn brown is particularly good for use in traditional gardens due to its natural feel, whilst Mint Fossil can be used in more contemporary designs. York Brown incorporates both contemporary and modern themes but careful use in large areas is advised as it can be a little overpowering.

Decking
Decking is a great product to use to create a seating area which is built into and blends with the rest of your garden. You should remember though that it will require annual maintenance to keep it at its best.

Steel Cabling
To create a more contemporary feel to the decking area, steel cabling can be used. Cabling is also beneficial to smaller areas as the use of wooden spindles can make the area look too closed in.

Edgings
Edging the lawn is an important feature within the garden as the edging accentuates the shape. It can also cut down the amount maintenance as it contains the grass in its boundaries. The examples below can give you an idea of the different types of edgings that can be laid.

Borders
Creating a low maintenance border - Weeds can cause havoc in what should be an attractive border. To minimise the need for weeding, we recommend laying a membrane over the soil and and covering this with an aggregate. The type of aggregate depends on the design choice; bark creates a nice background for plants, enabling the colours and textures to stand out, whereas slate provides a crisp, modern finish.
