Front gardens
Front gardens can be tricky compared to designing back gardens as there can be many obstacles such as driveways, walkways, and most front gardens are relatively small. When designing a front garden you can link together themes from the back garden. You should think about the following questions:
- Where do you want the main focal points?
- Where do you want the eye to start at and finish?
- Do you want the theme of the garden to fit in with your back garden?
- How much maintenance are you prepared to spend on the garden?
- What is the budget?
- If you haven't a theme in the back garden, what theme would you like?
- Are there any specialised features you require incorporating?
- Would you prefer pastoral or vivid colours, or a mixture of both?
Like the back garden front gardens need to be carefully planned; you need to have a clear vision as to where you want the main focal points to be. Once this has been planned, lines connecting these points have to be added; this can be done using straight lines or curves.
As can be seen from our portfolio most of our gardens have curved design features. This is because adding curves can make the garden appear to have more depth.
