Cottage
gardens - If you where lucky
enough to go to Chelsea this year or Tatton Park you
would have seen the trend change slighly from modern
contemporary gardens to soft cottage borders. A lot of
our recent customers have picked up on this andwant to
recreate it in their own garden. The first concern is
always maintenance; this is easily rectified by placing
membrane and bark chippings down, so little or no
weeding will need to be done. We
pick our plants very
carefully indeed,
choosing plants that are not too
invasive. and therefore again requiring little or no
maintenance, whilst providing colourful flowers which
texturally compliment one another.
Contemporary
gardens - If you are after a
more contemporary feel to the garden, then having
structural plants that provide a Japanese or
Mediterranean theme maybe more to your taste.
The tricky bit is making the garden
look colourful but not
making it look like a cottage garden, this is attained
by using cottage plants that have some architectual
value as well, like Hemerocallis that
looks similar to a grass but produces bright flowers all
summer. A lot of landscapers will make the mistake of
leaving a contemporary garden a little bare.
Green is a natural
relaxant so if you haven't got the space or
don't want a lawn then try and plant the area as lushly
as possible.
Maintenance
- In the winter we maintain over
75% percent of the
gardens we have built. It is important that you have a
gardener that knows what he/she is doing as we use
specialst plants that require
specialist care.
